Woodie McKechnie Takes Long Pond Freetown

On a mostly sunny day @ Long Pond, the anglers were eager to finally fish on a warm (not rainy) day. Air temps were in the mid 60s and the water was warm enough to put the bass in a semi spawn mode. That seemed to be the pattern for most of the anglers as some nice bass were brought to the scales. We had a total of 38 bass weighed in w/a combined weight of 64.83 lbs. for an average weight per bass at 1.71 lbs. Many were buck bass as the females , for the most part, held off.

When the scales were closed, WOODY McKECHNIE was declared the CHAMPION w/a 5 fish limit at 12.74 lbs. and he anchored his bag w/the big bass of the day.at 4.50 lbs. Our congrats go out to Woody for his 1st ever ABA Division 5 win. He didn't catch many bass but targeted bass that were close to the spawning areas.

The top 5 anglers are as follows:

1. Woody McKechnie - 5 fish - 12.74 lbs.

2. Dan Rose - 5 fish - 10.26 lbs.

3. Vern Santos - 5 fish - 8.33 lbs.

4. George Smith - 5 fish - 7.74 lbs.

5. John Poulin - 5 fish - 5.78 lbs.
